Secure the system hosting the web application.

Web applications depend heavily on the underlying host/operating system to perform properly, and may even share certain critical functionalities. Therefore it is extremely important that the underlying host is secured.

  1. Harden the underlying host operating system and other software as per standard hardening procedures (for example NIST/CERT/SANS/CI Security etc).
